Biographical Sketches of the Staff

       

        As a solo private practitioner, Duane C Rosenlieb, Jr., tried both criminal and civil cases for over 20 years, with jury verdicts of acquittal in murder and first degree robbery cases, among others. Mr. Rosenlieb has appeared numerous times before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, and his landmark appeal, Thompson v. McGinnis, 195 W.Va. 465 (1995), resulted in the torts of negligent hiring and negligent retention being recognized in West Virginia. Mr. Rosenlieb graduated from Mount Union College (now Mount Union University) in 1977 and from the West Virginia College of law in 1990.
