It is now clear that eyewitnesses are often wrong in their identification of defendants. In response to the growing interest in the developing science in this area, a consortium of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA), the Innocence Project and the Public Defender Service of the District of Columbia have put together an Eyewitness Identification Reform Litigation Network, complete with listserv  and an array of resource materials. 

I urge you to go to our web site index tab “Eyewitness Identification Resources” and take advantage of the Network’s forms, research and various commentaries.  The index shown will take you directly to the source documents. 

The Network includes a representative from each state; for West Virginia that representative is George Castelle, Chief Defender of the 13^th Circuit (Kanawha County) Public Defender Office.  Anyone can join the list serve referenced (eyewitness@nladalistserv.org).
